when i was a kid, maybe 9 or 10 when the sculptures were still there i used to look forward to the drive to san francisco made so much more interesting and wild because the "junk art" (as my mom used to call it) was there.
thinking about the bay area and the world at that time makes me realize how much has been lost: the quaintness, spunk and freedom that used crackle in the air. now the bay area has been sanitized for tourists and businessmen.
before i bum myself out by getting all nostalgic i just wanted to say thanks to the universe for this tribe's existence.
